LIEFO Investment Workshop | Liquidity & Private Markets

How can investors unlock liquidity when distributions from private market funds take longer to materialise?

We are pleased to invite you to an exclusive Members’ Lunch dedicated to liquidity solutions in private markets and the growing role of the secondary market in actively managing illiquid portfolios.

Actively managing private market portfolios in a slower distribution environment

For this discussion, we will welcome Neil, Founder of Overbay Capital, a specialist secondary investment firm. Prior to founding Overbay, Neil was recognised as one of the pioneers of the secondary market in North America.

Drawing on his experience working with institutional investors and Family Offices, the discussion will take a practical look at:

• Active portfolio management – How can it be applied to inherently illiquid portfolios?
• Selling a position – What are the key steps in a secondary transaction?
• Valuation & discounts – How are private market assets priced, and what discounts should investors expect?
• Real-life transactions – What can be learned from actual secondary deals, particularly involving smaller positions?

The objective is to provide a practical and open discussion among members on the options available to manage liquidity within private market portfolios, rather than simply waiting for distributions.
